Ayer dieron en el cable esta tremenda película. Bien dirigida, increíblemente bien actuada y ahora, sobre todo, demasiado actual.
Esta escena es realmente escalofriante. La discusión que tienen los personajes de Meryl Streep y Philip Seymour Hoffman para los pelos. Hay tanta tensión, tan poco empatía en los personajes y eso se traspasa con creces con la actuación.
Sin duda una película que hay que ver completa.
PSH: What did he say?
MS: Who?
PSH: The pastor.
MS: I did not speak to the pastor. I spoke to a nun.
PSH: You should have spoken to the pastor.
MS: I spoke to a nun.
PSH: You know that’s not the proper route for you to have taken, Sister. The church is very clear. You’re supposed to go through the pastor.
MS: Why? You have an understanding, you and he?
PSH: No, you have no right to go rummaging through my past!
MS: You have a history. This is your third parish in five years. Why?
PSH: Call the pastor. Ask him why I left. It’s perfectly innocent.
MS: I’m not calling the pastor.
PSH: I’m a good priest.
MS: Go after another child and another child, until you are stopped.
PSH: What nun did you speak to?
MS: I won’t say.
PSH: Yeah, I’ve not touched a child.
MS: You have!
PSH: You haven’t the slightest proof of anything.
MS: But I have my certainty. And armed with that, I’ll go to your last parish and the one before that. If necessary, I’ll find a parent. Trust me, Father Flynn, I will.
PSH: You have no right to act on your own! You have taken vows, obedience being one! You answer to us! You have no right to step outside the church!
MS: I will step outside the church if that’s what needs to be done, though the door should shut behind me! I will do what needs to be done, though I’m damned to hell! You should understand that, or you will mistake me.
PSH: Qué dijo?
MS: Quién?
PSH: El cura.
MS: No hablé con el cura, hablé con una monja.
PSH: Deberías haber hablado con el cura.
MS: Hablé con una monja.
PSH: Usted sabe que no era el camino apropiado, Hermana. La Iglesia es muy clara al respecto. Se supone que debía pasar por el cura.
MS: Por qué? Tienen un acuerdo ustedes dos?
PSH: No, no tienes ningún derecho de estar hurgando en mi pasado!
MS: Usted tiene una historia. Esta es su tercera parroquia en cinco años. Por qué?
PSH: Llame al cura. Pregúntele a él por qué me fui. Es algo perfectamente inocente.
MS: No voy a llamar al cura.
PSH: Es un buen sacerdote.
MS: Va tras un niño y luego tras otro, hasta que alguien lo detenga.
PSH: Con qué monja habló?
MS: No lo diré.
PSH: Sí, no he tocado a ningún niño.
MS: Sí lo ha hecho!
PSH: No tiene la menor prueba de nada.
MS: Pero tengo la certeza. Y armada con eso, iré hasta su última parroquia y la anterior a esa. SI es necesario, encontraré un padre. Créame, Padre Flynn, lo haré.
PSH: No tiene ningún derecho de actuar por su cuenta! Usted ha hecho votos, siendo la obediencia uno de ellos! Usted nos responde a nosotros! No tiene ningún derecho de salirse de la Iglesia!
MS: Me saldré de la Iglesia si es lo que tengo que hacer, aunque me condene al infierno! Usted debería entender eso, o se equivoca conmigo.

Esta película es buenísima, tampoco sabía que la estaban dando. La habría vuelto a ver.

Esto sí que lo comento. Hace tiempo que tenía ganas de ver esta película y ayer por fin lo hice y es todo lo que haz dicho. Por sobre todas las cosas, destaca la actuación de Meryl y Phillip encarnando a los personajes principales. Estos actores <3

Yo tampoco sabía que la iban a dar, como las demás, yo también la habría vuelto a ver.
Tuve la suerte de verla en el cine. A mi novio y a mi nos encanta Philip Seymour Hoffman, y también nos encantó la peli tras verla.
Arriéndenla si no la han visto, 100% recomendable, grandes actuaciones.
Queda una inquietante duda. Y a propósito de dudas:
les recomiendo el documental Capturing the Friedmans.
con sus comentarios me animaré a verla, la tengo hace varios meses…. Meryl topisima, pero algo me pasa Seymour Hoffman, lo he visto en Mi Novia Polly, me hizo reir, pero en esto no me lo imagino….
